ऐसा कहा जाता है कि शाहजहां अपने अंतिम दिनों में मुसम्मन बुर्ज में ही अधिक समय बिताया करते थे और अपनी प्रिय मुमताज की कब्र और उनकी याद में बनाए गए इस शानदार ताजमहल को निहारा करते थे.
